Inspecta sold to new owner

The main owner MB Funds sells it shares to the investment company 3i, Europe’s leading mid-market private equity and venture capital company. The new owner has an intention to develop Inspecta to take the next step into Europe.
The main owner of Inspecta, MB Funds and the Finnish Standards Association SFS, RTL and STEK, sell their shares to the international investment company 3i according to an agreement signed on the 18th of June 2007.
During MB Funds’ ownership, Inspecta has grown into one of the strongest TIC companies in the Nordic countries (TIC = Testing, Inspection and Certification). 3i is an international venture capital company who is specialized in developing large and middle-sized companies. 3i has come to the conclusion that the European TIC market is developing in the most interesting way and therefore wanted to acquire the company showing the fastest development in the business.
The new owner contributes with both experience of international growth and a strong competence in the business to the board of Inspecta. – The construction of Inspecta into a large international TIC company is a very interesting task that opens up totally new opportunities, both to the management and to our co-workers, commented Simo Hassi, Inspecta CEO.
