Centaur sells non-destructive testing operation to Inspecta
[2007-01-03]
The technology company Centaur sells its non-destructive testing operation to Inspecta. The transaction includes 8 people and equipment, which will be transferred to Inspecta 2007-01-01.
Centaur, with its base in Gothenburg, was acquired 2006-03-09 by the French engineering company Segula Technologies Group. The transaction was made in order to strengthen Segula´s position as one of the leading technology consulting companies in the automotive industry in Europe. In order to refine this deal Centaur´s non-destructive testing operation is now sold to Inspecta.
The Inspecta group is the leading provider of inspection, testing and certification services in the Nordic area with more than 1000 employees in Sweden, Finland and the Baltic States. Through this acquisition Inspecta reinforces its non-destructive testing operation which, with this acquisition, will amount to 100 persons in Sweden.
We are very pleased to have reached this deal with Inspecta, Centaur Segula’s Swedish Managing Director Claes Nilsson says. It is our conviction that Inspecta will manage the business well and give clients and personnel possibilities to a continuous development. We have had difficulties doing this since large investments are required to be able to follow the progress of new and more effective methods of testing.
Centaur’s testing operation is a welcome contribution to our competence and resources, Inspecta´s Swedish Managing Director Nils-Olof Hagberg says. The high standard of service they have provided their clients is something we will continue to build upon. Through Inspecta, Centaur´s clients will also have access to even more resources and new, more effective, testing techniques.
