Inspecta expands its operations to Poland by acquiring EPTSiL

Inspecta has acquired a Polish testing and diagnostics company EPTSiL from Polimex-Mostostal SA Group. The acquisition opens a new geographic market for Inspecta. Poland’s central location and the EU's sixth largest economy create significant growth opportunities for Inspecta and its customers.

EPTSiL ("Energomontaż-Północ – Technika Spawalnicza i Laboratorium" Spółka z o.o.) specializes in non-destructive and destructive tests of weldedInspecta countries 29.8.142014 materials and joints. With a head office in Warsaw, it operates from ten locations in different parts of Poland and has approximately 100 employees. In recent years, EPTSiL has mainly been serving other Polimex-Mostostal Group companies, but also has external clients both in Poland and abroad.

The acquisition continues Inspecta’s strategic expansion around the Baltic Sea where the company has previously been present in seven countries. As the first local operation in Poland, EPTSiL creates a platform for Inspecta’s further development and growth in the country. With its 38 million inhabitants, strong industrial base and skilled workforce, Poland offers significant growth opportunities for Inspecta.

Testing is still mainly done as an in-house operation in Polish industrial companies. Additionally there are some small testing companies serving local needs. Combined with EPTSiL’s resources and market presence, Inspecta’s high-quality testing services and international scope will create a market-leading position for the company. Presence in Poland also opens growth potential for other market-driven services of Inspecta.

“After joining the EU in 2004, Poland has thoroughly renewed its infrastructure largely by EU financing. In the near future, there will be large investments made particularly in the energy sector, as many of Poland’s power plants will be upgraded or replaced. We therefore see great potential in the Polish market. Since many of our Nordic clients already have manufacturing in Poland, the acquisition also helps us to serve them better”, Kari Aulasmaa the CEO of Inspecta Group describes the motives for the acquisition.

Inspecta will continue close co-operation with Polimex-Mostostal as the contract includes a co-operation agreement intended to build a long-term partnership between the companies.
